Without skipping a beat

My husband was reading the story of Samson and Delilah to my children. I'm on the computer desk listening to classical music while i crochet and I had a thought. "Can we have a bunny?" I asked him. Now it's not because Easter is near, cause i know that ALOT of people buy bunnies for Easter then abandon them after when they realize that a bunny is actually a living being that needs to be taken care of a not just a toy.
I've been wanting a bunny for a long time, even before the dogs. I just think they are so beautiful and innocent and precious.
So when i asked him, "Can we have a bunny?" without even skipping a beat in the story,
he looked up and said, "Uh, no". And then continued on with the story as if I had not even asked the question!

I think 2 kids and 3 dogs is enough for him.....but i want a bunny!

In Memoriam by Alfred, Lord Tennyson

Part of a beautiful poem that took him over 17 years to finish.

In Memoriam A.H.H.

OBIIT MDCCCXXXIII.

By Alfred, Lord Tennyson

STRONG Son of God, immortal Love,
Whom we, that have not seen thy face,
By faith, and faith alone, embrace,
Believing where we cannot prove;

Thine are these orbs of light and shade;
Thou madest Life in man and brute;
Thou madest Death; and lo, thy foot
Is on the skull which thou hast made.

Thou wilt not leave us in the dust:
Thou madest man, he knows not why,
He thinks he was not made to die;
And thou hast made him: thou art just.

Thou seemest human and divine,
The highest, holiest manhood, thou:
Our wills are ours, we know not how;
Our wills are ours, to make them thine.

Our little systems have their day;
They have their day and cease to be:
They are but broken lights of thee,
And thou, O Lord, art more than they.

We have but faith: we cannot know;
For knowledge is of things we see;
And yet we trust it comes from thee,
A beam in darkness: let it grow.

Photobucket

Let knowledge grow from more to more,
But more of reverence in us dwell;
That mind and soul, according well,
May make one music as before,

But vaster. We are fools and slight;
We mock thee when we do not fear:
But help thy foolish ones to bear;
Help thy vain worlds to bear thy light.

Forgive what seem’d my sin in me;
What seem’d my worth since I began;
For merit lives from man to man,
And not from man, O Lord, to thee.

Photobucket

Forgive my grief for one removed,
Thy creature, whom I found so fair.
I trust he lives in thee, and there
I find him worthier to be loved.

Forgive these wild and wandering cries,
Confusions of a wasted youth;
Forgive them where they fail in truth,
And in thy wisdom make me wise.

1849.

Spring

Photobucket

The sun was warm but the wind was chill.
You know how it is with an April day
When the sun is out and the wind is still,
You're one month on in the middle of May.
But if you so much as dare to speak,
A cloud comes over the sunlit arch,
A wind comes off a frozen peak,
And you're two months back in the middle of March.

Robert Frost (1874–1963)

A little madness in the Spring
Is wholesome even for the King,
But God be with the Clown —
Who ponders this tremendous scene —
This whole Experiment of Green —
As if it were his own!

Emily Dickinson (1830-1886)

Photobucket

A Light exists in Spring
Not present on the Year
At any other period —
When March is scarcely here

A Color stands abroad
On Solitary Fields
That Science cannot overtake
But Human Nature feels.

It waits upon the Lawn,
It shows the furthest Tree
Upon the furthest Slope you know
It almost speaks to you.

Then as Horizons step
Or Noons report away
Without the Formula of sound
It passes and we stay —

A quality of loss
Affecting our Content
As Trade had suddenly encroached
Upon a Sacrament.

Emily Dickinson

These dreary days, so dank and cold
Not a whisper of spring to behold
Left to imagine a world of color
Of warm breeze, clear skies like no other
Sounds of rain are in my ear
Almost calling out a tear
The situation darkens my mood
Oh hurry spring, come real soon!

I guess i failed

My week in dresses thing didn't turn out. Not that i didn't wear dresses. lol. The fact is, dresses and skirts are the only thing I wear, not that you didn't know that already.

But i just couldn't really motivate myself to edit, upload, and post them. Heck! I didn't even take pictures most of the days.

So I'm sorry. Forgive my little pity party, but i haven't paid my cable and internet bill because neither myself or my husband is working. And there just isn't any money to keep it going. Any day now they will shut them both off. And then it will be goodbye. So i am a bit depressed.

O Jesus Jesus Dearest Lord!

Photobucket

O Jesus, Jesus, dearest Lord!
Forgive me if I say,
For very love, Thy sacred Name
A thousand times a day.

I love Thee so I know not how
My transports to control;
Thy love is like a burning fire
Within my very soul.

O wonderful that thou shouldst let
So vile a heart as mine
Love thee with such a love as this
And made so free with thine

For thou to me art all in all
My honor and my wealth
My hearts desire, my body's strength
My soul's eternal health

What limit is there to this love?
Thy flight, where wilt thou stay?
On, On! Our Lord is sweeter far today than yesterday!

Week in Dresses Day 4 and 5!!!! Oh and some fun in between!

Wow, am i behind!

Day 4

A jumper and turtleneck that i got from Salvation Army. Bought on different days at equal prices! I think i paid 6 dollars total. I like this alot cause it's slimming. lmbo!

Photobucket

Also on this day, we were playing the game Sorry. We love playing it together! My pastor's wife bought it for my daughter's birthday. It was the BEST gift ever!

Photobucket

You can see my daughter cupping her face hoping that she doesn't get knocked off the board by her brother!
Photobucket

Photobucket

We now interrupt this game for a little pet interference!
Photobucket

Day 5!

I'm holding the skirt like this so you can see how full it is. I love this skirt! It's my favorite, bought from Goodwill.

Photobucket

And here we are in the kitchen cooking.

And part of me regrets putting this up, but i just can't help myself!
Excuse our "french" accents!

My weight loss struggle

Ok so i have resigned to try to make my lifestyle healthy again. So first off, i gave up meat. I was a vegetarian before and it lasted over a year and i lost weight and had more energy. But i caved in when my dad made bacon one day. lol. And i have been eating meat ever since. Now i know that just not eating meat is not gonna help me and i have been exercising on and off but i really need support. Sometimes i feel like i take one step forward and 3 steps back. Like when i did exercise 2 days in a row and then the next night had a whole box of chocolates. So i need accountability. I'm going to be posting what i eat on here so i can get feedback, and if i fall off the food wagon, all the world will see and i will face the consequences. Whoa, that looked like a long run-on sentence. lol.

So no better time like the present. Right now I am eating 2 cheese quesadillas with spaghetti sauce and a spinach salad with tomatoes, onions, garlic, croutons, and Italian dressing. Now that i think about it i think i could have put lemon juice and olive oil instead of the Italian dressing. Oh well...

A Week in Dresses Day 1&2!

Even though i only wear skirts/dresses I thought it would be nice to join Lisa's challenge to wear only dresses or skirts for the week!

I know I'm a little late posting! But i wasn't sure i wanted to do it because I'm not happy with my weight. But I just threw my insecurities out the window and here i am!

Please excuse the graphics i added. I thought it was nice.
