Disclaimer

I hate to post this but i have no choice. A woman on facebook has been continuously bothering me about my choice to wear a wedding band. I want to say this only once.
And i will use a modified version of Joceyln's "my site my right" to help explain my position, since she says things so completely.

My fb page and blogger page is not intended for any debatable purposes.
I have no condemnation from my Lord so i certainly do not have to feel yours. You’re welcome to comment your opinion and discuss topics with me but the only free speech is mine. If something offends you, you are welcome to press the little red X in the right corner of your screen. I do not wish to waste precious time with comments or questions meant to stir things up or vent. Titus 3:9 But avoid foolish questions, and genealogies, and contentions, and strivings about the law; for they are unprofitable and vain.

This is not meant for my friends who have been nothing but respectful and loving. This is for the exceptions. Nobody is perfect, but you know a tree by it's fruits.

Ok, now that that is over, let's all thank the Lord for our good health, good weather and good friends. :)

Very well said. If someone has amazingly wonderful fruit in their lives, but we are bothered by tiny details, then possibly it is best to just pray.....I've found that God worked with me step by step on things. I just want him to fix everyone else immediately!! (hee-hee) And sometimes it is my heart that he changes when I'm thinking he should be changing others! He is funny like that. Have a great weekend!!

Hi fellow Brothers and Sisters in our Lord Jesus.,I (Bridgets husband ) must say a word here. My wife is more soft spoken then I,now what bugs me is how some people can't help but to be so judgmental! I have a great wife, mother to my children and my best friend! So when someone attacks her it's the same as TRYING to come at me! To those that try to help and defend my QUEEN, BLESS YOU!!!! To those others whom seem to have nothing better to do but JUDGE others please find some hobbies!

Good grief! How condemning and legalistic and unbiblical. I wear a wedding ring. "Does a bride forget her jewelry," says the Bible in the O.T.

(((HUGS))) Sister! I totally agree with you. People need to find better things to do than bother others. I hope you have a wonderfully blessed Sunday!!!!

Thanks for being open about that. I am too. I've had to force myself to put some pictures of myself on my blog.....I think I've just always blamed it on being the one behind the camera!

Oh, my goodness! Not wearing a wedding ring honestly ever crossed my mind! What a thing to condemn someone for. Don't know all the details of the conversation, but it really seems to fall under the heading of a personal conviction on that person's part. I just see a ring as a custom or tradition, a symbol of a covenant. Well, anyway, so sorry for your angst!
Blessings,
Lisa

Yea, for someone who doesn't know me personally to repeatedly say that I'm not following God's way because of my wedding band really got me steamed. My Mennonite friends who actually DO know me personally have no problem with me wearing a band.

Hi, I just found your blog, and I don't know you well, but from reading and seeing your pictures, I appreciate your spirit.

I believe in modest dress also. I choose a plain witness, (i.e. more of the Mennonite look).

But, we as Christians witness for the Lord as He leads, and one is not better than the other, (plain not better than not so plain, no ring better than ring, etc...).

I appreciate what I read in your spirit and heart. I've met some that may not wear rings, but may lack in other areas, that those who wear rings excel in.

It's not a race or competition. Keep up the good work for the Lord!

Thank you!

Hey Dianna, I obviously don't dress plain, although it think it would be nice to, it is definitely NOT pleasing to my husband if i did so.
He would think I'm going overboard since I was not raised modest and especially not plain! But since I go to a Mennonite church I'm not a stranger to seeing women in plain. If down the road my husband's heart is changed than so be it, I'm just grateful that he is where he is in his walk! lol
