Disclaimer

I hate to post this but i have no choice. A woman on facebook has been continuously bothering me about my choice to wear a wedding band. I want to say this only once.
And i will use a modified version of Joceyln's "my site my right" to help explain my position, since she says things so completely.

My fb page and blogger page is not intended for any debatable purposes.
I have no condemnation from my Lord so i certainly do not have to feel yours. You’re welcome to comment your opinion and discuss topics with me but the only free speech is mine. If something offends you, you are welcome to press the little red X in the right corner of your screen. I do not wish to waste precious time with comments or questions meant to stir things up or vent. Titus 3:9 But avoid foolish questions, and genealogies, and contentions, and strivings about the law; for they are unprofitable and vain.

This is not meant for my friends who have been nothing but respectful and loving. This is for the exceptions. Nobody is perfect, but you know a tree by it's fruits.

Ok, now that that is over, let's all thank the Lord for our good health, good weather and good friends. :)

You know you are from NY when....

You Know You're From New York When...

* You're 35 years old and don't have a driver's license.
* You ride in a subway car with no air conditioning just because there are seats available.
* You take the train home and you know exactly where on the platform the doors will open that will leave you right in front of the exit stairway.
* You know what a "regular" coffee is.
* It's not Manhattan...... It's the "city".
* There is no north and south. It's "uptown" or "downtown." If you're really from New York you have absolutely no concept of where north and south are.... And east or west is "crosstown."
* You cross the street anywhere but on the corners and you yell at cars for not respecting your right to do it.
* You move 3,000 miles away, spend 10 years learning the local language and people still know you're from Brooklyn the minute you open your mouth.
* You return after 10 years and the first foods you want are a "real" pizza and a "real" bagel.
* A 500 square foot apartment is large.
* You know the differences between all the different Ray's pizzas.
* You are not under the mistaken impression that any human being would be able to actually understand a p.a. Announcement on the subway.
* You wouldn't bother ordering pizza in any other city.
* You get ready to order dinner every night and must choose from the major food groups which are: Chinese, Italian, Mexican or Indian.
* You're not the least bit interested in going to Times Square on New Year's eve.
* Your internal clock is permanently set to know when alternate side of the street parking regulations are in effect.
* Someone bumps into you, and you check for your wallet.
* You don't even notice the lady walking down the road having a perfectly normal conversation with herself.
* You pay "only" $230 a month to park your car.
* The presidential visit is a major traffic jam, not an honor.
* You can nap on the subway and never miss your stop.
*You have never been to the Statue of Liberty or the Empire State Building.
*You take a taxi to get to your health club to exercise.
*You know what a bodega is.
*You can get into a four-hour argument about how to get from Columbus Circle to Battery Park at 3:30 on the Friday before a long weekend, but can't find Wisconsin on a map.
*You haven't seen more than twelve stars in the night sky since you went away to camp as a kid.
*Going to Brooklyn is considered a "road trip."

*You actually get these jokes and pass them on to other friends from NYC.

Cry Unto the Lord!

Psalm 142

1I cried unto the LORD with my voice; with my voice unto the LORD did I make my supplication.

2I poured out my complaint before him; I shewed before him my trouble.

3When my spirit was overwhelmed within me, then thou knewest my path. In the way wherein I walked have they privily laid a snare for me.

4I looked on my right hand, and beheld, but there was no man that would know me: refuge failed me; no man cared for my soul.

5I cried unto thee, O LORD: I said, Thou art my refuge and my portion in the land of the living.

6Attend unto my cry; for I am brought very low: deliver me from my persecutors; for they are stronger than I.

7Bring my soul out of prison, that I may praise thy name: the righteous shall compass me about; for thou shalt deal bountifully with me. (Psalm 142, King James Version)

CurrClick!

Has anyone ever heard of currclick.com? I love it. It has TONS of FREE curriculum lessons as well as some well worth paying for. You can buy single units, even single lessons! It's outstanding. I highly recommend it. One of my favorites is from Amanda Bennett. Definitely look her lessons up! My children really enjoyed her Autumn Treasures study. It was great. Anywhoo, have fun!

The path has been laid for me

Well, a few days ago i was brought to the head office and was served my termination papers. I have indeed been fired. My emotions are mixed with worry for our finances (since I was the only one working), relief (I can actually get some rest), and a "what now" mentality. But I am happy also, because for the moment, at least, I am a stay at home mom again. Where i belong. :)

Blessed is every one that feareth the LORD; that walketh in his ways.

For thou shalt eat the labour of thine hands: happy shalt thou be, and it shall be well with thee.

Thy wife shall be as a fruitful vine by the sides of thine house: thy children like olive plants round about thy table.

Behold, that thus shall the man be blessed that feareth the LORD.

The LORD shall bless thee out of Zion: and thou shalt see the good of Jerusalem all the days of thy life.

Yea, thou shalt see thy children's children, and peace upon Israel.
Psalm 128

Barbie's got a brand new bag (like the song)

I love Barbies. Well, at least I did. I grew up on Barbies. They were cute, they had ambition, they were every little girl's dream. Now they are a nightmare.

What happened to the good wholesome Barbies that we all know and love?

Nowadays, the Barbies are much more revealing, and on the border of promiscuous.

The new Barbie line called "fashion fever"

Notice here how the doll is wearing the shirt off of her shoulders. Now when the child gets the matching kid shirt, how do you think she'll wear it?

Even their faeries (don't get me started how Barbie has drifted into the fantasy realm and hasn't left!) look like they are anorexic!!!!

How in the world are we supposed to build up girls to have good self esteem, a sense of worth, and just plain common sense when they are playing with dolls that wear and look no where near how we'd want our girls to look and wear things (I'd loosely call them clothes) that i at least know MY CHILD IS NO WAY IN THE WORLD GONNA WEAR!

Whoooo! I'm just infuriated over this. Lord, please help our children grow up to be wholesome, righteous, and have a good head on their shoulders.

If you are wondering where to get the wholesome dolls that are in the first top half of the post, visit Frans's House of Dolls and Toys.

In which direction things will turn

I am in wait for the decision whether or not i am going to keep my job. I made a big mistake at my job which usually automatically calls for termination. The case has been in deliberation for a few weeks now, so basically i've been distracting myself on homeschooling and facebook. I love homeschooling, and facebook has become a new little "obsession". I love facebook because of all the cutesy games i can play. You guys DO know i'm a girly girl right? lol.

And family i haven't heard from in YEARS are all of a sudden really chatty. So i guess it's easier than a face to face or even a phone to phone conversation for some of my family. So i have been hanging there. But i do miss all of my blogger friends.
I have a zillion other things in my head that i want to post, but if i lose my job, i might just lose the internet. So if i suddenly disappear it is because i can't afford to pay my net bill.

Oh and please pray because my husband has been looking for a job and actually has an interview coming up.

Whatever happens, God already knew about it. So I will be okay.
(Oh and I'm fighting a wicked cold so pray for me!)
Is there a nurse in the house?
