From the beginning it was made clear the darkness and light were different. One good, one bad. God is the light. He was the light from the beginning, and is the light in our lives for us to share.
And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness. Genesis 1:3-4 (emphasis mine)
No man, when he hath lighted a candle, putteth it in a secret place, neither under a bushel, but on a candlestick, that they which come in may see the light. The light of the body is the eye: therefore when thine eye is single, thy whole body also is full of light; but when thine eye is evil, thy body also is full of darkness. Take heed therefore that the light which is in thee be not darkness. If thy whole body therefore be full of light, having no part dark, the whole shall be full of light, as when the bright shining of a candle doth give thee light.
The spirit of man is the candle of the LORD, searching all the inward parts of the belly. Proverbs 20:27
For thou wilt light my candle: the LORD my God will enlighten my darkness.
How many scriptures do we need to read to realize that the Lord is our light, and gives us light. And we are to take that light and spread it to the world! We can NOT be ashamed to say, "Hello, do you know about our Lord Jesus?"
When we became Christians, we basically signed a contract with our souls that we are to share the love of our God and our Lord Jesus! No matter the consequences. People nowadays are afraid to make people uncomfortable by talking about Jesus. They don't want the possibility of losing friends, they don't want to get out of their comfort zone. What about all our brothers and sisters who are
losing their lives
for Christ? We have it easy! We take for granted how easy it is for us just to be able to talk about Christ. So why aren't we doing it?
Victoria posted a great post that everyone needs to read called
I am a part of the fellowship of the unashamed.
Please, go light your candle for Christ. Let's make a wildfire.
