Happy Memorial Day

This post comes late, but here it is.

Photobucket

Memorial Day means alot to my family. My husband's family is a military family. My hubby is a veteran, his brothers served, and his nephews serve (my brother in law just returned from his tour in Iraq last year). He has all branches of the Military in his family and 2 of my uncles served in the Army. We are very proud of our country.

I pray that everyone who has family currently deployed receives the joy of their safe return.
God Bless You, and God Bless America!

Sick again. Oh well.

I feel horrible. I lost my voice, and my head hurts, and I'm congested. The doctor says i have an upper respiratory virus. At least it's not the swine flu (OINK) or cat scratch fever (MEOW). lol.

I'm gonna leave you with a comforting thought. This is what makes me badly want a German Shepherd.

My birthday was May 20th and I had a blast!!! We brought my children to the Brooklyn Aquarium and then trekked to the Bronx to visit the Bronx Zoo. It was so much fun!

I didn't take much pictures, I was too busy having the time of my life. I LOVE going to places with my family. I am 26 now, one more year of life given to me by my Lord for which i am grateful.

The Church of Oprah Exposed! Oprah Denies Christ

This is scary, and also, it made me very angry. This woman speaks to millions of women. So many women follow her, try to be like her, practically worship her!
They buy the products she uses, they go where she tells them to go. If it's "Oprah approved" then it happens. Look at the presidency! And now, she's promoting that Jesus is not the only way to get to heaven, and that the belief that there is a God, is wrong. That God is just a feeling. My husband watched this with me and he was just astonished!

Attack of the Killer Cats!

I have the worst luck. There was a bunch of stray kittens with their mom just hanging around behind a gate. I wanted one. I figured i could offer a kitten a MUCH better life with our family than out on the street to repeat the same cycle of stray cats. I tried to reach them and chase them and grab them for over a half hour. Finally i got one.

What in the world was I thinking?!?!?
The little kitten was thrashing about and meowing and started scratching and biting my hands! While i was trying to calm down the kitten while trying to avoid more injury, I didn't see the mother cat creep up behind me....

I head a yowl, felt a sharp pain and i saw stars. I turned around and the mother cat had it's claws into my leg! Between the mother cat behind me, and the baby cat eating my hands off, it was too much.

I dropped the kitten and ran up the street, afraid the mother cat was going to chase me all the way to my house.

When i got home, i was bloody. My hand and leg were all cut up. My husband thought it was funny. First attack from a bird, now cats?

No, I did not get a rabies shot, the idea of a million needles just seems like too much. I'll take my chances.

But i tell you this, I will NOT pet a stray cat again. EVER.
A dog.....hmmmm. We'll see what happens.

All who is up, pray for me.

My neighbors are having a barbecue outside our building/window and the music is so loud and inappropriate, that the kids and I are all sleeping together in a different room, in a twin sized bed! The music has been blasting since 8pm. Its almost 2am. The police came already and nothing changed. Prayer is needed. What ever happened to common courtesy?

Brooklyn Botanical Garden and Prospect Park Zoo! Part 2

After the Brooklyn Botanical Garden we stopped and ate at Wendys. My husband went back 3 times to the counter before they got his burger right!

Hey Jazzy, I think you are hugging him a little too tight!

Can you tell who is the monkey?

Just so people don't think I'm a sunglasses crazed girl, those are my prescription. lol. They transition to dark lenses after only 2 minutes in the sun. It even does it on cloudy days. Sometimes it's a blessing, but sometimes it's a real pain (it takes a while to go back to normal, so if I go inside a dark room, I can't see!).

The petting part of the zoo was the last thing we did and it was the messiest. My son left with slime all over his shirt because it is natural instinct for him to immediately wipe his hands on his shirt whenever there is something on them.

Aggie the cow- a little intimidating.

Why is there no pictures of my daughter feeding animals?
She doesn't do the dirty thing.....

Yeah, try living with her, it's hilarious (being sarcastic).

Brooklyn Botanical Garden and Prospect Park Zoo! Part 1

Yesterday, my daughter had a field trip to the Brooklyn Botanical Garden. My husband chaperoned and I met them with our son when the field trip was over so we could enjoy the garden as a family. I am SOOOOOOOO glad i wore comfortable sneakers, that garden is HUGE!!!!! It had fountains, streams, indoor gardens, outdoor gardens (obviously), play areas for the younger kids that taught about plants, places where kids could help plant a garden, gazebos, cherry blossom trees, and everything!

I've never seen so many beautiful flowers (and only 3 bugs-2 bees and 1 spider).

I loved the bonsai trees! They were so intricate. Look at the details!

The flowers came in all shapes and sizes, and the different rooms (tropical forest room, desert room, etc) all had particularly controlled temperatures that are native to where the plant is from so that it would thrive.

My children really didn't like the desert room because of all the cactus. There was nothing separating us from the cactus (and all the other plants). So one trip, and we'd be in a prickly situation.

The tropical room was so humid it was almost unbearable.

If i had to choose the desert or rainforest to live, desert all the way!!!
Oh yea, we are going to! Moving to Arizona is one of our 5-10 year long term goals.

We didn't get a chance to see the whole garden because we wanted enough time to go to the Prospect Park Zoo which was right across the street.

Computer might die

If i suddenly disappear, it's because my pc has been acting up. It shuts off for no reason and i don't know what's wrong. I think i fixed it, but I'm not sure. So if you don't see me for a while, then it died for good. If so, it's been a good long run. I've had this pc since 2001. So just in case, just letting you know.

Will Christianity be wiped out? This is just scary.

I found this at Michelle's Homestead.

We really need to step up our efforts in proclaiming the Gospel. Not just overseas, but in our own backyard.
